Is it just me, or has the thrill of the actual World Cup kicking off today made you want to play the 2002 FIFA World Cup game even more? I know I'm rushing to finish this news post so that I can load up the game and choose Senegal and try and beat France (again) :P

Official World Cup 2002 Site Gets Updated |
Making sure they don't miss a beat, EA SPORTS have updated their official 2002 FIFA World Cup site with some very interesting movies.
If you weren't in London to see the Virtual World Cup Tournament last month, then you have to make sure you download the highlight footage EA have put together. As has come to be expected in these type of tournaments, the Koreans dominated. Yet they didn't always have it their own way.
There are also a couple of amusing TV ads that depict the best and worst case World Cup scenarios for English and German football fans.

Soccer Access' WC 2002 Site |
Soccer Access has announced the official date of its World Cup 2002 dedicated web site. The World Cup 2002 Centre will be officially releasing this Friday, May 31st.
"To celebrate the World Cup start we'll be publishing the World Cup 2002 patch "translated" for Fifa WC 2002. This patch will include the Skill Moves Selctor program for Fifa WC 2002, the 2GK Beta kits, WC 2002 IGGex and more. For our soccer fans, we'll be publishing the World Cup Center program.
This utility will include sections as: Fantasy League, Schedule (changes based on your time zone), teams and players databases, stadium info and pictures, WC history, Misc stuff, Matches of the day, Wallpapers, WC Trivia, Your Prediction....

New World Cup 2002 Files |
With only two days to go until the World Cup kicks off, I personally feel it is time to get this site rocking! Finally we're beginning to see some new World Cup 2002 files being added to the Downloads Centre. Tsee added just recently:- AI Acer (includes plenty of gameplay improvements)
- A Portugal Home Kit
- A Paruguay Home and Away Kit
We want to add as many files as possible. So kit makers out there... please send in your files. |

UEFA Champions League Patch coming soon |
Over in the Forum SoccerGamez and Soccered are planning a Champions League patch for the summer. It sounds great and lots of people are becoming involved with the development. It is planned to include: - kits will be made in 32 bit by Robert and JJ (basically the EMP2k2 Kits)
- rosters will be sorted by Joris from SoccerGamez and his great team
- the numbering will be removed from the shirt
- new ball, new gloves and new boots
- Champions League Anthem
- Adboards and stadium graphics will be adapted to be more like the Champions League ones
- flags
- check in Sweetpatch's Patches Database for all the qualified and non qualified teams and star players that will be included
